Designer

This position allows for many different learning opportunities and the room to grow and be creative. As a Designer you are working one on one with both contractors and the general public, allowing for a wide range of different tasks and jobs. Our customer service is very important to us and we want to ensure that all of our clients feel special and have their personal needs met.

• Responsibilities:

  • As a member of our Design team, you will create design concepts in response to client needs, using visual formats (Cabinet Vision, Sketchup)  connecting them with products that fulfill functional and aesthetic needs for their unique kitchen and bath projects

  • You’ll work with customers directly in the showroom, as well as on the phone. You’ll ask questions to learn about their projects, needs, and desires, and then you’ll help them choose the products that are right for them

  • Assist with customer presentations for customers who are interested in seeing how the products would look in their own space

  • Ensuring high quality and professional output from the design department

  • Managing client expectations by informing them of our process, policies and timelines

  • Manage your planning of workflow for the entire design process from start to finish

  • Produce clean and accurate drawings with annotations and specifications clearly marked

  • Specification research to accommodate appliances, plumbing, gas and electrical requirements

  • Prepare pricing estimates using our software

  Skills/Qualifications:

  • College or University degree in Interior Design, Architectural Technician, Architectural Technology, or related programs is an asset.

  • PC proficiency required. 3D design experience preferred.

  • CAD, Cabinet Vision & Sketchup skills are all desired.

  • Strong problem-solving,  organizational, and communication skills.

  • Must be able to work on multiple projects simultaneously with a demonstrated ability to excel in a fast-paced environment within tight deadlines

  • Strong interpersonal skills required to communicate with a broad range of individuals including clients, key members of the design teams, production department, installers, and contractors

  • Passionate self-motivated individual with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively as part of a team

  • Positive & outgoing personality

  • You are innovative, creative and a team player who is able to lead by example in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

  • Ability to project a calm, professional demeanor and instill a strong sense of confidence

  • Attention to detail coupled with a commitment to follow through and always willing to go the extra mile

  • Resourceful and creative

  • Interested in self-development and is committed to continuous self-improvement

  • Possess a valid driver’s license

  • Appreciation for décor with a high degree of taste and awareness of industry trends
